Angola will become the third world diamond producer in 2010, according to forecasts by KPMG Company.
To become one of world's top diamond players, Angola will have to double its production to 19 million carats in 2010, from an estimated 10 million in 2008, Endiama said, noting falling demand for diamonds due to the global economic crisis.
KPMG says a second factory will open in Lunda Sur, 497.09 miles SE Luanda, with monthly profits to round $20 million.
Angola is currently the 5th world diamond producer, following Botswana, Russia, Canada and South Africa.
